October 31st, 2016

With the upcoming release of Mitel’s 6900 IP phone series, you may have noted that several of the handsets are “voice optimized”.  What exactly does that mean, you may ask, and is this feature worth paying for?  We’ll cover all that and more in this week’s Cortel’s Phone Feature of the Week!

It tests the patience of almost everyone who uses a telephone when you can’t hear the person on the other end. The sound on a voice optimized handset is exceptional, featuring high definition Hi-Q audio technology to deliver exceptional voice clarity in all types of environments from the clamoring office cubical, crowded contact center, or bustling healthcare facility.

To enable effective collaboration, these handsets feature an enhanced HD full-duplex speakerphone with a sealed acoustic chamber. According to Big D Communication, full duplex capability is important because it “allows incoming and outgoing parties’ voices to be simultaneously transmitted so that there is no clipping or choppiness.” Big D Communication, Why use a full duplex speaker phone This makes it easy for people to converse as if a normal conversation.

Voice optimized handsets are the latest advancement in IP telephony and if anyone would like to know more about this feature, please email us, the Architects of TELEFFICIENCY™, at contact@cortel.com.
